AMRAC - Patriotic and Community Programs

As a Federally recognized veteran’s advocate group and an association of dedicated active duty and veteran members, we are committed to patriotic causes. As an organization, we fully support programs that increase awareness among non-veterans, particularly the nation’s youth.  As a result, the Association of Recruiters and Counselors has adopted the following activities as our basic patriotic activities.

YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP GRANT PROGRAM
This program is an annual essay-writing contest. A patriotic theme or topic will be announced annually usually at the start of the regular school year.  The essay writing competition is open to high school students and college student, who are at least 14 years of age and not older than 19 years of age on May 1st of the year following the start of the current school year. The annual contest and topic will be announced in the AMRAC Gazette.  The contest is open to any student, but must be submitted by an Association member in good standing. Full details will be posted in the Gazette. Contest winners will receive a cash award in an amount to be determined by the executive committee. An appropriate certificate and letter will be presented to the winner or winners. More than one annual award may be given and different degrees of winners may be recognized depending on the amount and quality of entries.

PATRIOTIC SPEAKING PROGRAM
The Association will fully support members who volunteer to speak at veteran’s activities, high schools, colleges, patriotic gatherings or any event that brings credit upon the Association or our nation. Speaking materials will be provided to members whenever possible and small monetary stipends to defray incidental costs will be provided on a case-by-case basis and subject to availability of funds.

YOUTH SPORTS AND RECREATION VOLUNTEER AID PROGRAM
The Association and its members shall be committed to volunteer work on behalf of young people. Whether in support of organized activities such as scouting or sports or as individual mentors as teacher aides and volunteer coaches, our members are encouraged to participate in the local community to make it better.

VOLUNTEER EDUCATOR PROGRAM
Education and American history are important to our Association. Full support materials for loan or gift to members and institutions will be made available as a method of increasing awareness of military contributions to society and military history. The Association will partner with universities and other higher education institutes to further the causes of education and advancement of our members, veterans and their families. Our education advisory council will provide personal counseling and mentorship to our members and other veterans.
